ScholarshipsScholarships for Post Secondary Students
The following provides a description of the four programs administered by Jewish Vocational Service: Gus Hilb established the Hilb Scholarship Fund through a bequest to the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati in 1955 in honor of his parents, Mannis and Yetta Hilb. The fund encourages residents of Greater Cincinnati to apply for a need-based academic scholarship. Applications can be made for colleges/university enrollment, professional training programs, and/or short-term vocational training programs in non-academic fields. Hilb candidates are also considered for grants issued from the Guthman, Magnus, Saidel and Heldman Endowments according to the individual endowment guidelines. Applications are available online during open enrollment periods and can be accessed by clicking on the application button below. For additional information about the Scholarship programs, please contact the Scholarship Administrator Pamela Smith.
"It Secured My Future" “My Mom has a two-year college degree and knew she could not afford to send me to college. Without scholarship support there is absolutely no way that I could have attended college. It secured my future and it is making such a difference in my life. I am literally making a difference in other peoples’ lives too, so it ended up being a continuation.” There is an 11% increase in people applying for scholarships for traditional schools, and the number is expected to grown next year. (Jewish Vocational Service 09-10 vs. 08-09, supported by the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati.) |
