Whether you are unemployed, underemployed, need to update your skills or are new to the job market, you can utilize the JVS Cincinnati Career Network workshops to fine-tune your job seeking skills at no cost to you.
Workshop Descriptions
Job Search Boot Camp
Intensive session covering for job-searchers. Reflect upon your current employment situation, including your current and past experiences, interests, and most important priorities. Discover career options. Learn effective marketing tools, including how to write résumés and cover letters. Find the hidden and apparent job markets. We will offer tips about how to “wow” the employer at the interview and how to negotiate the best deals for you.
Job Searching
Are you confused about how to begin your job search? This workshop will help you get started. Or are you burnt out and need some new ideas about how to find job leads? Learn some fresh approaches to finding job leads in this course where we will examine several effective methods for uncovering both the visible and the hidden job markets.
Interviewing
Interviewing is your real opportunity to present yourself in a positive light to the potential employer. This is your chance to win a job! Learn the strategies of preparing for job interviews, how to organize your thoughts, present yourself as a strong candidate, soften negative events in your work history, and answer difficult questions. This workshop prepares you to interview with confidence and increase your chances of getting the job.
Networking Workshop
There is an effective and efficient way to Network. Learn how to take the mystery out of networking and learn:
Concrete skills for reaching out to others
How to build more effective professional relationships
What to do at a networking event
How to approach someone you don't know well
Improving Your Résumé and Cover Letter Workshop
Your résumé is often an employer’s first impression of you. It is your first opportunity to “market” your skills and background to employers. Learn valuable tips on how to write résumés and cover letters that stand apart from the crowd.
